SARA REGAL

An artist and designer specialized in material research and sustainable practices applied to spaces and objects. She has developed an intuitive and experimental approach towards the material qualities and production. Her work flows in between industrial and artisanal techniques, synthetic and natural materials, with the natural environment as the main lead. Currently, she works as an independent creative in the countryside of Mallorca, where she experiments with local waste materials to create recycled craft objects, while continuing working as a set and interior designer. Her work has been shown at the New York Design Week, Salone del Mobile, and the Vitra House, among others.

Residue: Soft Remains is a new series of modular, collectible seating pieces by Sara Regal, created from layered and fragmented industrial waste collected across Mallorca. What appears at first  tone-like geologic in presence: sedimented, immovable, dense, reveals itself on closer encounter as soft, textured, and shaped for rest.

CURATED BY MESURA AND VASTO SCREENING OF 'UNA MESA, DOS MITADES* PRESENTATION: 26TH OCT
19:00H  - 20:00H

"Mezcla, Moldea, Lija, Mueve" is designer Sara Regal's journey into exploring construction waste to create a series of 20 unique pieces in which the process is to be cherished.

After a two-week-long artistic residency in VASTO’s construction site, where she was invited one year ago by MESURA and VASTO to create a bespoke design piece-"Split Table," all three collaborators saw an opportunity, a spark, a path to embrace the synergies and keep Sara's investigation going.
