Biography
After graduating from the School of Decorative Arts in Paris, Marion de Raucourt began working as a designer for luxury brands. During those years, she developed a special interest in parades and costumes.
Based in Mallorca since 2019 and inspired by the Mediterranean tradition, the artist creates a series of handcrafted objects. With clay, she found the way to directly translate a language where the object is detached from its use to mingle with the allegory.
Marion has developed her own molding technique, from which the Minestrone series is derived. Cast in acrylic plaster within soft fabric molds, the columns, vases, and objects take the imprint of the fabric that contained them, whith their seams. Playing with their usual function, Marion’s pieces follow a path composed of chimerical and fantastic visions.
