"Mezcla, Moldea, Lija, Mueve"

After a two-week-long artistic residency in VASTO Gallery's construction site, where she was invited one year ago by Mesura and VASTO to create a bespoke design piece—"Split Table," all three collaborators saw an opportunity, a spark, a path to embrace the synergies and keep Sara's investigation going.
While developing “Split Table,” the designer let go of control and worked with fixed circumstances: limited time and synthetic and unexpected materials. In “Mezcla, Moldea, Lija, Mueve,” Sara takes in the learnings and direction from that journey and owns the process, focusing on certain types of construction waste and natural materials that better align with her signature sustainable practices without losing the essence and highlighting the human and manual work behind each piece.

The series, composed of 16 pieces, showcases the importance of process and experimentation: even if all segments have been set to follow specific procedures and parameters, one can notice that each of them is an invitation to have a closer look, to find the irregularities and decisions that make them unique and distinguishable.
“Mezcla, Moldea, Lija, Mueve” is an experiment, a series of trials and errors leading to an end result now subject to the audience’s eye. An exhibition curated by Mesura and VASTO Gallery and the first to be held in the gallery’s newly opened space.
